Why You Can’t Keep Cool

The weather is getting warmer here in New Mexico which means that our air conditioning systems are going to be getting used more and more often in the coming weeks and months. As the temperatures go from warm and pleasant to sweltering though you might notice that you have a problem: you can’t get your home cool like it used to.

You could write this off as a byproduct of the high summertime temperatures but we urge you to take a moment and really check on your cooling system. If there is something wrong with your A/C, or if there is something else going on with your home that is hindering your comfort, the sooner you identify and address the problem, the better things will be.

Troublesome Air Conditioner Noises

noisy-systemOn those days when the sky is clear and the sun is heating things up quite thoroughly it is nice to know that you have the option to just stay inside and enjoy the nice, even, crisp, cool air that your air conditioner is providing. That is, it is nice until you become aware of the fact that there is a fairly worrying noise coming from your system while it is doing its job.

While some air conditioners are going to make a little bit of noise when they operate (ie. a brief amount of clicking after a cooling cycle ends), this doesn’t mean that every noise coming from your unit should be written off. In fact, most sounds should prompt you to be concerned because in many cases they are going to be an indicator of trouble.

With that said, let’s review some of the noises your air conditioner may produce and what issues those noise may indicate.
