How a Fujitsu Ductless Mini Split System Keeps You Comfortable

When you picture a whole-home heating and air conditioning system, you most likely think of a set of ductwork that leads out to the vents in the rooms of your home. But if your home doesn’t have ducts and vents, what options do you have?

You could install ducts, but this is a large job to take on that disrupts daily activity and it just isn’t a possibility for some homes. You might decide to use inefficient window units and portable heaters, but these are inefficient, and they are not very good at heating an entire room properly or efficiently.

A Better Solution

A ductless mini-split system works just like a conventional home heat pump (an air conditioning/heating combo) but without the need for ductwork. It consists of:

  • An outside condenser unit (as with the standard central air conditioner).
  • Indoor blower units – enclosed fan units mounted high up on the wall or the ceiling.
  • A refrigerant line and electrical components connecting the two.

The only real difference between this and the standard heat pump is that the fan unit isn’t hidden from view. It’s high up on the wall, and there is one in each room where you want air and heat.

Fujitsu Ductless Heating and Cooling Efficiency

Ductless heating and cooling systems are highly efficient. They only move heat from one place to another, rather than generating it, and the former process uses less energy. The Fujitsu ductless mini split systems we install come in a range of efficiency ratings and designs. With proper maintenance, your new system should last well over a decade.
