Which Type of Air Conditioner Is Best for Your Home?

It’s the best time of year to get a new air conditioning system, when the weather is mild, more technicians are available, and you’ll have a high-performance unit ready to keep you comfortable throughout the spring and summer. But we know that choosing a new unit can be stressful. Take a look at some of the options we offer, and call our technicians for more details!

Heat Pump

A heat pump has all of the same components of a conventional split system AC (those with an outdoor unit and indoor blower), but there are a few added in. While a conventional air conditioner can only move heat in one direction—out of the home in order to cool it—a heat pump has valves that allow it to move heat into the home as well. You can use your heat pump year round for high-efficiency heating and cooling!

Conventional AC

The availability of heat pumps does not make the conventional central AC any less of a viable option. When you choose a conventional air conditioning system with a high-efficiency rating, you can expect to save way more than if you had a window unit or portable AC. And with zone control installation (available with heat pumps as well), you get separate thermostats in different areas of the home, so you get even more control over your comfort.

Swamp Cooler

A swamp cooler is a low-cost system that many people in the area already rely on for home cooling. However, when high-humidity hits (as it has done recently), it may not operate properly, and many people have to switch over to window units at this time. Consider all of your options before replacing an older swamp cooler.

Ductless Mini Split System

If there are no air ducts in your home, or if you have limited use of your air ducts, Fujitsu ductless mini split systems are here to help. Installation is much easier than duct renovation, and you get comfort to last you so many years to come. Besides, they are much more efficient than portable systems. Call your local AC techs!
